John M. Raines was appointed to the University of Missouri Board of Curators by Governor Mike Kehoe in March 2025.>

John M. Raines is the former President of TELUS Digital Agriculture & Consumer Goods, where he led the company’s data-driven transformation of food production and supply chains. A seasoned executive with more than three decades of experience in the agriculture and technology sectors, Raines has held leadership roles at TELUS, The Climate Corporation, and Monsanto, where he was instrumental in driving global commercialization strategies, mergers and acquisitions, and customer engagement initiatives.

He currently serves on the board of FMC Corporation, where he is a member of the Audit and Sustainability Committees. Raines also serves as Chair of the Audit Committee for Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners and as Chairman of Paris Bancshares, the holding company for TPNB Bank. His experience spans publicly traded companies, privately held businesses, and community banking.

A native Missourian, Raines earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Systems Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1988. He is also actively involved in production agriculture in Missouri and a principal in U.S. AG Network, a Missouri-based technology company specializing in agricultural asset management.

Raines and his wife, Buffy Blades Raines, a 1990 graduate of the University of Missouri, have two children, both University of Missouri alumni, and two grandchildren.
