Understanding your Health Payment Account (HPA)

If you enrolled in the Healthy Savings Plan for your medical insurance, you may be eligible to enroll in a health payment account (HPA). An HPA establishes a revolving line of credit to help pay for health care costs via payroll deduction.

The University has partnered with Paytient, the nation¡¯s largest provider of health payment accounts.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ the Account

  • The Paytient health payment account provides a $2,000 revolving line of credit to pay for out-of-pocket health care costs.
  • You can use it for medical, pharmacy, dental and mental health expenses.*
  • The account offers repayment plans customizable through payroll deductions.

*Subject to approval. The Paytient card works with providers in approved merchant categories, including select online merchants. Providers self-select their categories, which may not be categorized as expected. These categories vary by Sponsor. Check approved categories on my.paytient.com or the Paytient app. Some purchases must be made at specific points of sale, like pharmacy check-outs. Note: The card cannot be used for health insurance premiums.
